Offering the authentic feel of a real grand piano, but still providing an abundance of sounds and performance features, the 73-key version of Korg’s SV-2S Stage Vintage piano is an ideal choice for the contemporary performing keyboardist. With 72 preloaded sounds and 128 voices of polyphony, the SV-2S is set up to handle nearly any configuration of splits and layers, allowing for lush combinations of pianos, strings, organs, synthesized sounds, and more.

The SV-2S features Korg’s RH3 hammer-action keybed, which has been specifically designed to feel and play much like a grand piano. With heavier keys in the lower range that gradually become lighter as you move up the keyboard, those with traditional piano backgrounds will feel more comfortable playing with a response similar to their favorite pianos. Players may also choose from several velocity curves, dialing in the response of the sounds to their liking. Additionally, the SV-2S provides tuning schemes and global concert pitch adjustment to make it capable of playing music from any period.

Enhancing the performance aspect besides simply including sounds beyond the scope of regular pianos, the SV-2S also features capability for plenty of audio effects. Six separate stages of audio processing provide effects such as three-band EQ, compression, overdrive, guitar amps with cabinet simulation, chorus, reverb, delay, and more. The SV-2S also features Korg’s Valve Reactor circuit, utilizing a real 12AX7A vacuum tube. For the SV-2S, Korg partnered with speaker designers K-ARRAY to include built-in speakers, providing excellent sound quality for practicing at home, choir rehearsals, and more.
